For a truly unique experience, head up to Mount Wilson Observatory for an intimate classical music performance inside the historic dome of the 100-inch telescope—where Edwin Hubble discovered our place in an expanding universe! Artistic Director Cécilia Tsan curates each program with precision, blending music and science in this 20th-century “temple to science.” A reception with light refreshments will be held outside the dome at 4 PM.

The Pasadena Police Department Car Show returns this summer with a full day of classic cars, community spirit, and family-friendly fun. Now in its 24th year, the annual event helps raise money for the Pasadena Police Explorer Program and the Pasadena Police Activities League (PAL), which provide mentorship, educational opportunities, athletics, and leadership programs for local youth. Expect rows of polished cars, live entertainment, food, and activities while supporting programs that have impacted thousands of Pasadena kids over the years.

Celebrate freedom and community spirit at the 5th Annual Juneteenth Roller Jam at Pasadena City Hall! Juneteenth commemorates the effective end of slavery in the United States. Kids can explore the play area and art space curated by the Armory Center for the Arts, while everyone can connect with local community resources. Skates are welcome (or rent them for just $10), and all are invited to roll, dance, and celebrate Juneteenth together.

Pasadena is throwing itself a birthday party this summer, and everyone’s invited. “Happy Birthday Pasadena: Highway to Adventure!” at the Pasadena Museum of History celebrates three major milestones at once: Pasadena’s 140th birthday, Colorado Boulevard’s 150th anniversary, and the 100th anniversary of historic Route 66. The free all-ages event will transform the museum campus into a nostalgic road trip experience filled with live music, games, crafts, exhibits, trivia, photo ops, and plenty of cake, popcorn, and lemonade throughout the day.

The massive FoodieLand Food Festival returns for a three-day weekend packed with global flavors, desserts, street food, games, shopping, and live entertainment. Featuring more than 250 vendors from across the region, the festival transforms the area into a giant outdoor night market celebrating food and culture from around the world.
This year’s event also includes a special Independence Day drone show on July 4, making it one of the biggest summer food events in the Pasadena area.

The Head In The Clouds Music & Arts Festival returns to Rose Bowl Stadium this summer with another massive lineup celebrating Asian and Asian American music, food, and culture. This year’s festival will feature performances from KATSEYE, XG, UMI, Dabin.kr, KiiiKiii, LNGSHOT, and more, alongside a curated selection of food vendors from across the Asian diaspora. Known for blending high-energy performances with immersive art and culture, the festival has quickly become one of Pasadena’s biggest music weekends of the year.

The one-day festival, curated by Goldenvoice, will be headlined by legendary rock band The Strokes and features a stacked lineup including LCD Soundsystem, Chromeo, Feist, Matt and Kim, TV Girl, and more. Known for its laid-back outdoor setting and throwback festival energy, Just Like Heaven has become a favorite for indie and alternative music fans across Southern California.

The beloved Pasadena Chalk Festival is getting a fresh new home this year, moving from The Paseo to Brookside Park near Kidspace Children’s Museum and shifting to September 26–27. The longtime Pasadena tradition, known for transforming sidewalks into massive works of art, draws hundreds of artists and thousands of visitors each year. Organizers say the new location will offer more space, shade, picnic areas, and easier parking, while also expanding family-friendly activities through a new partnership with Kidspace.
This free, family-friendly event features over 500 talented chalk artists from around the world, coming together to create stunning live murals. Wander the colorful masterpieces, enjoy a live DJ, and grab concessions.
