Pasadena Hosts Team USA vs. Belgium Watch Party Today

I know Mexico’s loss to England and elimination from the World Cup was heartbreaking. But football fever isn’t slowing down in Pasadena. The city’s third free Fútbol 2026 Watch Party brings fans together today to cheer on Team USA as they take on Belgium.

The free event kicks off at 3:30 p.m. at the Pasadena Civic Auditorium Plaza, with the match beginning at 5 p.m. Expect food trucks, live music, soccer-themed games, family-friendly activities, and a beer garden with drinks available for purchase. Fans are encouraged to wear their favorite team’s colors, bring a chair for the limited seating, and stay hydrated while enjoying the festivities.

Eaton Canyon Recovery Continues

If you’ve been missing Eaton Canyon, you’re definitely not alone. One of the Pasadena/Altadena’s most iconic hikes and home to its beloved waterfall, Eaton Canyon has remained closed since the Eaton Fire swept through in January 2025. The fire stripped away the vegetation that held the hillsides together, and just weeks later, winter storms sent mud, rocks, and debris cascading into the canyon, dramatically reshaping the landscape.

This July, Los Angeles County is taking another step toward recovery by removing sediment from Eaton Wash Reservoir through mid-November, helping restore its ability to capture stormwater and reduce future flood risk. If you live near the area, expect increased truck traffic and construction activity during weekdays. The canyon still has a long road ahead, but every step brings us a little closer to seeing one of Pasadena’s most treasured outdoor spaces open again.
