THE DIGEST
Oasis, Cage the Elephant at the Rose Bowl
Last night at the Rose Bowl was loud, nostalgic, and unforgettable, the kind of show that stays with you. Cage the Elephant opened with a gritty, full-throttle set that had the crowd buzzing before the main event even started. Then Liam and Noel walked out together, kicked into “Hello,” and for the next two hours the stadium was theirs.
The set leaned heavily on Definitely Maybe and (What’s the Story) Morning Glory, every track landing like an anthem. Liam’s voice carried with the same bite it always had, while Noel anchored the band with quiet precision. “Live Forever” had the entire stadium singing in unison, and “Wonderwall” turned into the kind of moment you don’t forget.
When the last notes of “Champagne Supernova” rang out, fireworks erupted above the Bowl and the place absolutely erupted with it. Walking out with the crowd still humming those choruses, it was hard not to feel like we’d just witnessed one of those rare shows that people will talk about for years.
Pasadena was buzzing after the show both Saturday and Sunday night, with heavy traffic and bars and restaurants packed well past midnight. I couldn’t even find a seat for dinner in Old Town at 12 a.m. Thankfully, I was able to walk home from the Rose Bowl. Driving looked like a nightmare. Still, totally worth it. Oasis was incredible.
Junior League of Pasadena Names New Leadership Ahead of 100th Anniversary
The Junior League of Pasadena has announced its 2025–26 Board of Directors as the organization prepares for its centennial year! Founded in 1926, the League has shaped Pasadena institutions including Kidspace Museum, Pasadena Senior Center, and La Casita del Arroyo. The centennial year will feature new service initiatives, community events, and women’s leadership programs.
