THE DIGEST
16 Old Pasadena Restaurants Join Dine LA Restaurant Week
Dine LA Restaurant Week is back from July 25 to August 8, and 16 Old Pasadena restaurants are joining the citywide culinary celebration. From Michelin-rated dining to bold new flavors, this two-week event is your chance to try curated lunch and dinner menus at set prices—perfect for foodies, date nights, or anyone ready to shake up their dining routine.
Old Pasadena’s lineup features a mix of beloved institutions and rising stars, including Agnes Restaurant & Cheesery, Perle, and Fishwives (all Michelin-rated), plus longtime favorites like Mi Piace, Bone Kettle, Maestro, and The Kitchen. Newcomer Neighbors & Friends joins the list with fresh sandwiches and a neighborhood vibe, while Mama M, Gyu-Kaku, and Sushi Roku bring the sushi and BBQ heat.
Most restaurants offer outdoor dining, and the historic 22-block district now boasts 70+ al fresco options, from patios to upgraded street platforms—making this summer’s Dine LA experience even better. Menus range from $25 to $65+, with options for lunch and/or dinner. Walk-ins are welcome, but reservations are highly recommended due to the popularity of the event.

Emmy-Winning “Sunshine Storyteller” Brings Bravery & Joy to Altadena Library
After months of post-fire repairs, the Altadena Library is turning the page with some serious sunshine. On Monday, July 14 at 1PM, Emmy-winning performer, teacher, and storyteller Ina Buckner-Barnette—aka The Sunshine Storyteller—will light up the program room with interactive tales, music, and movement designed to get kids clapping, laughing, and feeling like heroes.
Known across SoCal for her vibrant, multicultural performances, Ina doesn’t just tell stories—she brings them to life. With over 25 years of experience, appearances at the Getty and Museum of Tolerance, and themed shows like “We’re Better Together” and “Sunshine Hugs & Kisses”, she’s made it her mission to teach bravery, kindness, and self-love through global folklore and fun.
The event is free, open to ages 5–12 and their families, and no registration is required. Just head to Altadena Library, 600 E. Mariposa St. and get ready to shine.
