Pasadena will pay tribute to one of its own this Veterans Day, honoring Lt. Colonel Raymond G. Harvey, a Medal of Honor recipient and one of the most decorated soldiers in U.S. Army history. The ceremony takes place tomorrow, Nov. 11 at 10:30 AM at Pasadena City Hall.

The event will feature Associate Justice Eileen Moore as keynote speaker, a flyover by the Condor Squadron at 11:11 a.m., family-friendly exhibits, and complimentary hot dogs served by Pasadena Fire Fighters Local 809.

Harvey, a Chickasaw Indian and longtime Pasadena resident, earned more than a dozen military honors for his valor in World War II and Korea, including the Medal of Honor, Distinguished Service Cross, and multiple Silver and Bronze Stars.

What’s Open and Closed in Pasadena for Veterans Day

Pasadena city offices, including the City Service Center and Permit Center, will be closed Tuesday for Veterans Day, reopening Wednesday. Trash, recycling, and bulky-item pickups will continue on their regular schedules. Pasadena Transit and Dial-A-Ride will run as usual, though riders should double-check LA Metro or Metrolink connections.

Parking meters and time limits won’t be enforced Tuesday, but overnight parking, red zones, and fire hydrants will still be ticketed.
