THE DIGEST
Pasadena’s Bridge Party Returns This Saturday
Clear your Saturday night—because Pasadena’s Bridge Party is making its grand return tomorrow from 6 to 11:30PM, and it’s the ultimate summer vibe. We’re talking live bands, local eats, vintage cars, and dancing under the lights on the iconic Colorado Street Bridge.
It only happens every other year, and this year’s bash features music from Mercy & the Merkettes, 63 Degrees, and more, plus food from faves like Dog Haus, Shake Shack, and Robin’s BBQ. You’ll also catch a Waymo self-driving car, fun for kids, and a stunning new featured artwork—“First Light” by Pasadena’s own Kristopher Doe.
🎟️ Tickets start at $30 (kids 12 & under are free!)
📍 Defenders Park, Orange Grove & Colorado Blvd

Pasadena’s Glow-Up: Streetlights Go Green (and Bright)
Pasadena just got a little brighter—and a whole lot greener. The city has upgraded 620 old streetlights, including the iconic lamps around City Hall, swapping them for sleek, energy-saving LEDs. That’s cutting daily energy use by the equivalent of 332 rooftop solar panels.
Not only do the new lights look better and improve visibility, they’re saving money and letting city crews focus on other upgrades instead of chasing flickering bulbs.
More LED upgrades are on the way as Pasadena continues its mission to light the streets—and the path—to a greener future.
Cleo’s Critter Care Needs a New Home
For nearly 20 years, Cleo’s Critter Care has been a safe haven for Pasadena’s wildest residents—think bunnies, baby opossums, and other orphaned or injured critters. But now, the beloved rescue is facing eviction, and founder Cleo Watts has until October to find a new home for the 900+ animals her team cares for each year.
Cleo and her volunteers stepped up big during the January fires, rescuing both wildlife and lost pets. Now they’re hoping the community can step up for them. They’ve launched a GoFundMe to help relocate and keep the rescue going strong. If you can help them out, even just a little, the cute little animals will appreciate it so much.
Know of a small property in the area? They’re all ears (and paws).

CIVIL NEWS
Altadena Celebrates Long-Awaited Post Office Opening
After months of mail delays and long lines at overwhelmed Pasadena post offices, Altadena residents finally have local service again. On Wednesday, the community celebrated the grand opening of a new Village Post Office at Webster’s Community Pharmacy (2333 Lake Ave.), filling the gap left when Altadena’s post office burned down in January’s wildfires.
The new location offers mail drop-offs, stamps, flat-rate supplies, and more—thanks to a partnership between Supervisor Kathryn Barger, USPS, Webster’s, and the Altadena Recovery and Rebuild Corporation.
“Today’s grand opening is more than the return of postal services—it’s a step toward hope and healing,” said Barger.
