🍂THE DIGEST
Pasadena to Host Annual Veterans Day Celebration at City Hall
Pasadena’s annual Veterans Day Celebration is set for Tuesday, Nov. 11 at 10:30 AM on the steps of Pasadena City Hall, and everyone’s invited to come out and honor those who’ve served.
Former Pasadena Mayor William Paparian will lead the ceremony, with keynote remarks from Justice Eileen Moore, a decorated Vietnam War veteran and former Army nurse.
There’ll be a Condor Squadron flyover at exactly 11:11 AM, free hot dogs courtesy of Pasadena Fire Fighters Local 809, and plenty of family-friendly exhibits and booths to explore.
This year’s event also marks the 250th anniversary of the U.S. Army, Navy, and Marine Corps—a perfect reminder to pause, reflect, and thank the veterans who’ve shaped our community.
Thanking the Neighborhood Before the Parade
The Tournament of Roses hosted its annual Community Open House yesterday at the historic Wrigley Mansion, a way to thank Pasadena neighbors who deal with parade traffic and street closures each New Year’s Day.
Roughly 500 guests turned out for lunch and live music, with plenty of “Go Dodgers!” still echoing from the team’s World Series win. Tournament President Mark Leavens and Mayor Victor Gordo spoke about community partnership, while Rose Queen Serena Hui Guo and her Royal Court made their first big appearance.
The most touching moment came from Martin Gordon of the Pasadena Community Coalition, who shared how the Tournament quietly supported fire survivors after the Eaton Fire: “You were a beacon of hope in a mountain of despair,” he said.
The event was held in partnership with the Pasadena Community Coalition and with support from the California Credit Union Foundation.

🌽CIVIL NEWS
Pasadena Updates Bike Rules
The City Council is moving to update local regulations to match California’s e-bike laws, officially defining electric bicycles and scrapping the city’s old bike registration rule that’s been hanging around since forever.
The changes bring Pasadena in line with Assembly Bill 1909, which standardized e-bike classes statewide and ditched local registration requirements. Translation: no more city-issued bike licenses or stickers.
The update also cleans up some of the city’s code language while reinforcing Pasadena’s broader push for safer, more bike-friendly streets.
Implementation will be led by the Transportation Department, with support from Pasadena PD — and no new costs to the city budget.
